Common questions
- Why can't I move a product to Review, Ready or Live? It has at least one failing blocker. Open the product: the readiness checklist lists what's missing, with the variants or images concerned. Moving products back a stage is never blocked.
- A rule doesn't fit some of my products. Edit its profile under Settings › Quality rules: change the rule, make it a warning, turn it off for that profile, or exempt vendors or tags (for example own-brand items without barcodes).
- The column mapping for my supplier file is wrong. Change any column on the mapping screen before importing; Catalyn saves your corrections for that supplier, so the next file from them maps itself. Price, cost and stock always need your confirmation.
- Why does a product say "Changed directly in Shopify"? Someone edited it in the Shopify admin. Keep Shopify's changes, or restore Catalyn's version through an update you approve. You can switch to accepting admin edits automatically in Settings.
- How do I undo a change? Open the update under Activity › Approvals and choose Undo. It creates a new update restoring the previous values, which you approve like any other.
- Does Catalyn update stock levels? Not yet. Stock from supplier files is shown and used in checks, but isn't written to Shopify.
- I uninstalled. Can I get my data back? No. As described in our privacy policy, all Catalyn data is deleted within 48 hours of uninstalling. Products in your Shopify store aren't affected.
Billing questions
All charges run through Shopify's billing system, so billing history is in your Shopify admin under Settings → Billing. The free plan includes the catalog scan and one manual re-import a day; your catalog stays up to date with changes made in Shopify automatically. For anything else, email us.
